Catering the Ribbon Cutting

In this specific event, the least challenging moment was definitely finding the recipe and making a grocery list. We all noted things we liked that we knew could be simple and easy... then looked at the final grocery lists to decide which one would feed more people per dollar.

The recipes that we narrowed down to were chili or sloppy joes. By pricing the ingredients and totaling by cost per person, we were able to decide what would be most beneficial for us financially and palatability. One factor could be that you have a tight spending budget. You want to find something that will feed a bunch of people but also make some profit for your time. Not to this specific event but just in general.

This project was very messy between getting chili all in our cars and burnt onto my stove permanently. We may consider storing lesser

amounts in the crock pots or in completely enclosed containers. I would also personally make the meal the night before to ensure you can make it on time and have it heated up and ready for when the event actually starts. Overall, it was a positive experience catering this for our ribbon cutting. I'm looking forward to the next catered event! Possibly with some volunteers/servers ;)
